Hannagan Meadow Lodge Spring Newsletter
Get out your hiking boots and mountain bikes. Spring has arrived at Hannagan Meadow Lodge! What a difference a month makes. In mid-February we were hip-deep in snow, and now we are planting flowers.
Hannagan Meadow has the feel of a grand reawakening this time of year. Nature is in full bloom here. We don’t see many elk in the winter - they don’t like the snow and migrate to lower elevations. But we saw two the other day, a sure sign that spring is on its way.
Streams that flow full with winter snow melt, and the fresh air bring everything back to life. While Phoenix is already nudging 100 degrees, Hannagan Meadow Lodge enjoys delightful sunny days with high temperatures at 70 degrees. Here you find comfortable temperatures, great sleep and pristine nature. You can truly refresh and recharge at Hannagan Meadow Lodge.
The Black River, minutes away from Hannagan Meadow Lodge, offers some of the best fly fishing in the entire region, especially in the springtime. Our guides will show you exactly where they are biting! Endless hiking and mountain bike trails are clearing of snow, offering new adventures for outdoor enthusiasts.
Soon, horseback riding, camping and evening bonfires will mix with the songs and laughter as families relax in the beauty and simple joys unique to the Hannagan Meadow Lodge experience. Always a popular option, the Lodge buggy provides wildlife tours and a chance to see the best of the natural scenery around Hannagan Meadow.
National Geographic and Venture Magazine have both highlighted Hannagan Meadow Lodge as one of the "very best back country lodges in the United States". We sit next to the last designated primitive wilderness in the entire country. The country surrounding Hannagan Meadow Lodge has changed little since our nation was founded. Is it any wonder that many adults who came here as children, now bring their families?
At 9,100 feet, you can sit on our front porch at night, look up and see an array of stars more numerous than the blades of grass carpeting Hannagan Meadow across the highway from the Lodge. Whether your idea of a perfect day in nature is traversing the woods or sitting on the front porch of the Lodge and taking in the sights, Hannagan Meadow Lodge provides an experience like no other, and a time you’ll always remember.
